Atkins - Barry, Correspondence, 1910
The Other Lasker's NotesThe Anglo-American Cable Matches were played annually by telegraph around the turn of the 20th century; they frequently featured notable British and American players. In round 1 of the 1910 match, Henry Ernest Atkins and John Finan Barry played the French Defense.
Henry Ernest Atkins was a schoolmaster who won the British Chess Championship nine times, which is still an unbroken record. Chess columnist and problemist John Finan Barry was the president of the Boston Chess Club and won the New England (now the Massachusetts State) Chess Championship.
Edward Lasker annotated the game in 1915.
