Lasker - Mieses, Scheveningen, 1913
The Other Lasker's NotesThe Dutch Chess Federation's 40th Anniversary Tournament, held in a seaside resort, featured many of Europe's strongest young players. In round five, Edward Lasker and Jacques Mieses played the Scandinavian Defense.
Edward Lasker, Emanuel Lasker's cousin, was also a notable chess author and a formidable chess player who would win the Western Chess Association's Championship (now called the U.S. Open) five times. Jacques Mieses played with a sharp style that earned him many brilliancy prizes; he would remain competitive in tournaments into his eighties, making his chess career one of the longest ever.
Edward Lasker annotated the game in 1915.
