Brand New Gambit vs. The Caro-Kann!

ChessOpeningAnalysisTactics
Discover a fresh gambit to make Caro-Kann players suffer!

Introduction

I'm very excited to present to you a new gambit against the Caro-Kann, which I only discovered yesterday!

The gambit arises after 1.e4 c6 2.d3 d5 3.Bf4!?, with the idea of 3...dxe4 4.Nc3 exd3 5.Bxd3, sacrificing a pawn for a big lead in development:

The Lichess database shows White scoring heavily from this position, with a 65% win rate from games between players rated over 2500. (From the position after 3.Bf4, White is already scoring a healthy 55% score from games played between 2500+ rated players).

I have named this gambit the 'Janaszak Gambit', after the Polish FM Dawid Janaszak. Most of the games in the conventional databases with 3.Bf4 come from his games.

I cover this Janaszak Gambit in detail in my latest YouTube video, enjoy!
