Over the board
One of my best games ever

This game was in a rapid chess tournament . I had the white pieces and I played the Ruy Lopez (Spanish Opening) . Let 's review the game together .
Here is the imported PGN of the game witch I'm gonna analyze it step by step :

until the move 4.O-O , There was nothing strange and we had the Classical variation of the Ruy Lopez and after castling I was expecting something like Nf6 but my opponent decided to play 4....Nd7.
I played 5.c3 , a logical move , and I am trying to play d4 to take the centers and I was expecting him to play the move d5 witch I calculated this line to have a little advantage (5. ...d5 6.N.e5 O-O 7.N.c6 N.c6 8.B.c6 b.c6 9.d4 Be7 10.e5 +=) but my opponent played the move f6 .
I went for my plan (d4) and in move 10 I made a mistake . I played Bg5 and I coulda played Qh5 witch would give me a big advantage
After winning a pawn on move 13 , I played an amazing move (a4) . the threat is obvious , isn't it? . I have enough time to bring my rook from a3 to g3
After 15. ... a6 I played Ra3 and if a.b5 the following line is winning (17.Rg3 Kf8 18.Rf3 (18. ... Kg7 19.Qf7#) Bf5 19.R.f5 N.f5 20.B.d8 +-) So he played the move Rf8 , then I removed the defender of the g6 square with B.e7 and after Q.e7 , I won the game with the line below :
18.Rg3 Kh7 19.Qg6 Kh8 20.Q.h6 Qh7 21.Q.f8 Qg8 22.Q.g8#
Hope you enjoy and be brilliant!
