The "Berlin Wall” was used by Johannes Zukertort in the first World Championship match of 1886 without success; however, the variation got full recognition when Kramnik used it against Kasparov successfully in the 2000 World Championship match. This “wall” was first a headache for Kasparov, and now it has become a headache for all 1.e4 players.
