THINK Blog Volume 2 Chapter 1

It has been a while since I have posted a blog, but it is longer since anyone has posted a blog for THINK -- thus I feel the creation of a brand new Volume 2 is merited. The archive of Volume 1 may be found here.

There can be no talk of THINK without a mention for Rankrotten, without whom the team would today be dormant, and also for the incomparable QueenRosieMary, who somehow finds the time to devote herself to a profusion of other endeavours on lichess and elsewhere.

But what is THINK? As a team on Lichess, it is one of many. At the same time, it is unlike most other teams in that it is more of a nexus. Besides THINK, as a member of any or all of THINK TWICE, THINK RK, THINK FAST, THINK Rest OF The World or THINK ZH one may join as many or as few teams, battles or other events as one chooses. Recent highlights involve the 42nd Brainbox challenge, an Internal Teams and Friends Team Battle, and the 107th Rapid League. If there is a main event, it has to be the Lichess Liga, of which the latest edition is at the time of writing starting in a few hours.

There is of course no way that everyone can make it to every event, as we all have obligations outside of lichess whether they revolve around working, studying, making everything OK for everyone in a family/circle of friends or what-have-you. With THINK, I am confident in making the claim that it's easier than it is with most things to get out what you put in.

I tend to keep my blogs on the brief side of concise, at least in the first instance: sometimes I add to them after publication, and by sometimes I mean less often than not. One caveat: I do not presume to speak for my fellow leaders, but I am doing this in my limited discretionary time and in your interactions you are advised to exercise your own discretion. In other words, I am not the type to pray for the haters.
