Teaching experience

I’ve been coaching chess for +5 years, working both one-on-one and with groups. I’ve taught players of all ages, from young children to adult and senior learners, and I’ve worked with both recreational students and highly talented competitors. My students have achieved strong results, including top placements in the Chilean National Championships. I also give talks and workshops on the benefits of chess and how to train in a practical, efficient way for steady improvement.

Other experiences

I’ve helped organize chess tournaments and I’m involved in club leadership, contributing to planning and decision-making within my chess club. In addition, I create opening courses for an online chess website, focusing on practical repertoire-building and clear instructional content.

Best skills

I specialize in building opening repertoires and teaching practical memorization techniques, including mnemonic methods to help students retain key ideas and move orders efficiently. As a coach, I adapt training to each student’s playing style, selecting the most suitable content to maximize strengths while systematically improving weaknesses for balanced progress.

Teaching methodology

My training is highly practical and personalized. We start with tactics tailored to your opening repertoire, focusing on the positions you’re most likely to reach in your own games. We also review your games in depth: we identify critical moments, calculate key variations from positions that could have arisen, and refine your opening choices based on real recurring situations.

From the analysis, we detect patterns of mistakes and turn them into clear training objectives. Then we study the relevant concepts and repeat targeted practice until they become automatic. Every lesson is documented in a PGN and a linked Lichess study, so you can review the material anytime. During the week, I send exercises to keep training consistent and accelerate improvement.
