Born in Saint-Petersburg, live in London.

During my career I won plenty of open tournaments (Gibraltar, Grenke, Russian Higher League, tied 1st Aeroflot), some closed events (Russian Superfinal, Prague Masters), all kind of team events (World Team Champioship, European Team Championship, European Club Cup, all national leagues possible), except Olympiad. Yet to come.

I helped Ian Nepomniachtchi to win Candidates twice in a row. Peter Svidler also did quite well in London 2013.

Wrote a book lifetime ago about French defence. People like it. Please, don´t play it!

I´ve worked with the best coaches in the World, such as Gelfand, Dokhoian, Dvoretsky, Dreev. It helped me a lot as a player. Now I am sharing this wisdom as a coach.
