CM Daniel Frempong-Smart

My name is Daniel Frempong - Smart. I am a 25 year old chess player from Ghana.
Although I graduated with a Civil Engineering Degree, I've decided to take some time off work to pursue chess coaching for now.

I thought myself to play chess at age 18. Despite my late start, I took my chess training serious and put in a lot of effort to get this far.

7 years of playing experience

I've won a lot of local tournaments and I've had the honor to represent my country in International tournaments such as the 2023 All African Games and the 2024 Chess Olympiad in Budapest.
These experiences have deepened my understanding of high-level competition, and I’m eager to help others unlock their potential, no matter when they start their chess journey.

I have been teaching chess in my free time for the past 3 years and helped beginners get to 1800+ online ratings.

I prepare individualized lessons for each student on the various aspects of chess:
Openings, Planning In Middlegame , Endgames (both theoretical and practical), Calculation and Tactics.
I also analyze students games to understand their strengths and help fix their weaknesses.
I also play training games with my students and explain my thought process along the way.
