GM Ante Brkić

I am Ante Brkic, a 36-year old grandmaster from Croatia with FIDE ELO rating 2608.
I am also FIDE Trainer.

I became a grandmaster at the age of 18 and I started to play for national team of Croatia when I was 16.
My peak FIDE rating was 2645 and I was among the top 100 in the world more than once.
My top achievements: I played in 3 World Cups and my best results was in Sochi 2021 where I was at the end among 32 in the world
( I beat strong players like Yuriy Kryvoruchko and Salem Saleh).
For the national team I played in 7 Olympiads and 5 Europeans and in 2023 in Budva I took bronze medal on the 2 board for Croatia.
I was 3rd on U12 World youth championship (Oropesa del Mar 2000)
Croatian champion in 2011.
2nd place at the Tournament of piece in Zagreb (behind Niemann).
I won a lot of open tournaments in Croatia and region (Schwarzach,Split,Zagreb,Pula,Solta,Zadar etc.)

I was a coach in Chess Club Vinkovci for 10 years and my students (Stjepan Dabic, Petar Kovac and Borna Pehar) they were Croatian champions in youth categories several times. My current best student is 16 years old Sanjin Culum who plays for the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina and has a FIDE Rating of 2441.

In my free time I like to do sports mostly tennis and going to gym. I am also big football and NBA fan.

I have a lot of experience both as a coach and as a player in big tournaments. I played a lot of games with top players as well and I also analyzed a lot with them and helped in some tournaments. My main aim when teaching is too deepen my students understanding of the game and use my playing experience to teach them valuable lessons.

Working on Skype or Zoom with share screen. Focus on all parts of the game. I tried to find my students weaknesses and work together with them to fix them.
