About me

Hello everyone! My name is Lav Pajcin, I am a 20-year-old FM from Serbia, currently studying at the Faculty of Technical Sciences at the University of Novi Sad. I believe I can help people improve their game. I work with all levels, from absolute beginners to 2000 FIDE rating players.

Playing experience

I have been playing chess since my childhood. I have participated in many international tournaments and achieved a few wins against IMs and GMs. My best results include winning the Serbian National U18 Championship in 2023, winning the Battle of Senta 2024 in the A group, and winning the Svetozar Gligoric Cup with my teammates.

Teaching experience

I have about two years of coaching experience, mostly with beginners and intermediate players. Some of my students have won their school tournaments.

Other experiences

I like watching films, TV series, and sometimes doing sports.

Best skills

I think I can teach you how to evaluate position based on piece play and pawn structure, how to find right plan in position, how to calculate properly, how to build good opening repertoire, how to improve your endgame knowledge, how to gain a psychological advantage over your opponent, and, most importantly how to continue improving on your own.

I am very good in explaining chess classics and getting most out of it.

As a player I enjoy playing with a space advantage and having the bishop pair.

Teaching methodology

When I start working with someone I want to check some of his latest games to spot his strengths and weaknesses. Once I have general overview of his chess knowledge, I can easer help him correct his mistakes. I like using well-tested materials like Jussupow's and Dvoretsky's books.
