Hi, I'm Iwan a National Master and Chess Coach based in England. Coming from an academic background as a Chemistry undergraute student, I use proven methods and novel approaches to enhance students skills, helping them go beyond expectations and excel in achieving their goals.

Some of my key achievements include:
Represented Wales: 2023 U18 World Youth Championships & 2025 World Junior Championships
2nd Place, 2025 Welsh Championships
2x Under 21 Welsh Champion
2x Under 18 Welsh Champion
2x County Champion

With experience coaching individuals and groups, including leading sessions at a junior club, I’ve developed a flexible approach that caters to players of all levels. I focus on everything from opening theory to endgame tactics, helping students improve their skills while strengthening their strategic mindset. Whether working one-on-one or with a group, I adapt my coaching style to ensure each student gets the most out of every lesson. Outside of lessons, I always strive to be available to answer any of my students’ questions and help them prepare for tournaments.

As a Coach, I'm an opening and endgame specialist, with an effective approach to significantly improve a students evaluation of positions and subsequently improve critical thinking and decision making over the board.
