I am going on vacation for a few weeks. During this time, Lichess might decide to change things and thus inadvertently break LiChess Tools.
In that case:
- the first thing you can do is to just disable the extension and wait for me to return.
- if you don't feel like doing that, you can always go to the LiChess Tools preferences in the top-right corner, scroll to the bottom and use the buttons there to find the tool that might cause the issue. First "Backup" your existing settings, then press "All off" which will still load the extension, but not use any of the tools, then turn on features one by one in order of importance. Or you can start the other way around, after backing up, turn off features to see which one causes the problems.
- still, it might be something fundamental that breaks all LiChess Tools, regardless of configuration, in which case, go to step 1.
If you feel like you will forget to reenable LiChess Tools if you don't use it for a while, you can use the temporary disable toggle in the top-right menu. That one re-enables itself the next day. But it would be cumbersome to that daily for weeks. There is a similar toggle in the LiChess Tools preferences, which doesn't toggle itself back on. I recommend you use that one, so you still get the LiChess Tools menu and you can reenable it from there.
Still, if the extension just doesn't work, it's better to disable it from the Extension Manager in your browser, rather than rate the extension one star because it breaks things for you that very moment. Alternately, if it does work great, you could rate it in the stores. It helps me a lot. Thanks!

I'd like to be able to change lichess without worrying about extensions that make expectations about its internal works, and that break lichess when they change.
But it happened, so I changed lichess again to add backward compatibility support. Analysis should now be working even if you keep LT installed.

Version 3 should have more guardrails. Haven't started work on it yet, but I want to isolate Lichess as nuch as possible behind an interface.

I only noticed this just now; up until yesterday it wasn’t working yet. I wrote about it in the forum today because I assumed that nothing had changed since yesterday and I simply wanted to let everyone here know that the problem existed, but now it seems to be fixed, so everything is fine :). I was obviously not up to date. Anyway, I’m really grateful for your great tool "Lichess Tools"!
