Crazyhouse World Championship 2025: Grand Final

The long-awaited Grand Final of the Crazyhouse World Championship officially kicks off next weekend!
This post covers the details and rules for the final match of the event, which will be contested between GM @gsvc and @GRXbullet.

Dates & Schedule:

  • Saturday, 24 January 2026 – 20:00 UTC
  • Sunday, 25 January 2026 – 21:00 UTC
  • Sunday, 1 February 2026 – 21:00 UTC

On each day, 20 rated Crazyhouse games will be played with a 3+2 time control, for a total of 60 games across the match.

Match Format

  • Total games: 60
  • Time control: 3+2 (rated)
  • Winner: The player with the higher score after 60 games

In case of a tie (30–30), the players will continue with mini-matches (best of 2 games) until the tie is broken.

Tiebreak games will be played during the 1 February session, following a short break of approximately 5–10 minutes after the scheduled games.

Prizes

Prize distribution — including prizes for all 8 Candidates and the 4 Semi-Finalists of the Crazyhouse960 Championship side event — will be announced and awarded shortly after the conclusion of the event.

️Broadcast & Coverage

The matches will be covered by a team of commentators, to be announced closer to the event date.
On the final day, there will be a short interview with the champion following the conclusion of the match.
