The User (@Amazing_Tactics) Who Steals Studies For Cash

ChessAnalysisPuzzleTacticsLichess
We have a Thief among us in the Study Community

@Amazing_Tactics is a study 'creator' who has made many studies lately (13 in 2 months).

They have gotten thousands of likes and appear frequently on the front page.

It has been revealed that the reason for this increase in productivity has been serial plagiarism.

@Amazing_Tactics has been stealing other people studies and presenting it as their own.

@Benja_RH spotted that they had stolen a Danish Gambit study from user @Green_Frog96.
@LHY_Chess_0204 then discovered they had stolen two more additional studies.

@Amazing_Tactics has stolen at least 3 studies:

Ultimate Guide - Danish Gambit (Original Study by @Green_Frog96)

English Opening! (Original Study by @ChessBeginner210)

Bird Opening (Original Study by @DeadlyGambits)

!UPDATE!: A fourth study has been found to be stolen by @Amazing_Tactics

The Amazing Italian Game from the account of @Amazing_Tactics currently has 1,300 likes and is on the front page of the study section.

But that study has been stolen from @Xjay42 (the original creator only has 30 likes). Hanging Pawn's Italian Game (Original Study by @Xjay42)

!UPDATE!: Message from @Thibault

Thank you @RuyLopez1000 for the investigation.

I found 5 studies that were outright cloned from other study creators:

It's unacceptable.

To make things worse, they tried to cover their tracks by cloning first to a private study, then a second time to the public study that we see. So that there's no trace of the plagiarism, and obviously zero attribution given.

I've deleted the plagiarized studies and will contact noctie about it. We will also be more vigilant in the future about it.

What @Amazing_Tactics does is clone the study and then simply add emojis to it.

Then they present it as their own.

They steal the content and the chess lines, and simply add emojis to the comments.

We have looked at their studies and confirmed this plagiarism by comparing the studies (original and @Amazing_Tactics stolen version). Here are some examples (from the Danish Gambit study):

Stolen Chapters:

Stolen content:

Sadly, @Amazing_Tactics also lied to me.

@Amazing_Tactics asked me to promote their studies on my team (I promote people's studies and blogs)

They presented their studies to me and claimed that they had done it themselves.

Stealing for Financial Gain:

@Amazing_Tactics is sponsored by a chess company called Noctie, giving them a financial incentive to steal.

Noctie offers money to study creators on Lichess in exchange for them advertising Noctie on the study.

They can make up to $50 USD for every study they publish. (More money for higher study performance).

I got the same sponsorship offer myself (I am not paid myself by Noctie, they approached me with a offer that I didn't take up):

Not only is @Amazing_Tactics stealing other people's studies, but they are doing it to make money through advertising chess companies.
