Well for those that are near Montreal and was hoping to reach the meet in time ...

Maybe with more advance notice, some might travel over seas to be there. Obviously to take a vacation at the same time, but I would assume it takes planning and reservations months in advance. Some might have liked more heads up like knowing planned yearly meet dates by country. That way we can plan a vacation around the Lichess meet.

So this year it's in Spain. Anyone planning one for 2024 or 2025?

Wishful thinking ... How about a special online chess tournament with all the OTB player's that have gone to the lichess OTB meets ?

The meets seem to be a good time to validate some chess player usernames. Maybe they could then have a meet validation icon and so it would give those players a more personalize touch when joining a tournament or playing against others online.

how about a preference feature to accept chess challenges only from validated players? With a search feature to challenge players that have a validation icon....

I think a 100% profile should include a Meet validation icon. It's fun playing against everyone, but I prefer to play with players that have a complete profile. We could have chess tournaments dedicated to 100% complete profiles. The only way to get 100% is to go to a chess meet.

Yeah, India is a cheap location. I think it will be half the cost of Montreal Meetup.
