Playing the Strongest Rapid Tournament in Madrid
The 1th of May i played a rapid tournament in Madrid where i was the 22 of the initial ranking with 2300, this speaks so good about the level of the tournament with more than 40 tilted players and 5 top Grand MastersIn the first round i won a close sicilian with black and in the second round i had another weak opponent so i created art against the french defence.
Sacrificing everything. Round 2
Maybe in this tournament i didnt play my best chess but at least i played very agressive in all the games trying to have the initiative, this game is the best example of that.

In the following 2 rounds the level of the opponents increased of course but i won 2 equal endgames to have 4/4 so i went up to the first boards to face the former 2700 the Russian Grand Master Alexander Motylev, of course was a honour to face this top players but always is more specila for me when i face a GM of Russia the country with most chess culture.

After the fifth round we had a small break to lunch and in the sixth round i made draw without play with a friend to extend the rest a little bit and be ready for the last 3 rounds.
With my fast draw in the previous game one of my ideas was avoid the top boards and not face Gms yet but the computer pairing progam decided that i should play against another 2600 with th eblack pieces.
R7. Being Squased by Albornoz with 1.e4

Like in the round 5 my opponent know more theory than me and i havent so much options, now i should won the last 2 games if i want to earn some prizes.
ALL or NOTHING. Last Round
After won the 8th round without a good play but being better in the time troubles i reach the last round with options to earn a prize winning the game so with black i chase the Nimzoindian, very interesting opening to play for win with black.

I ended in 13th position with 6.5/9 points earning 110€ and 40 elo.
Happy to can play this very strong tournament close to my hometown and hope to return the next year, i dont know what is going to be my next rapid tournament but if going to be early so follow me iif you want to see if i win the next one, im analyzing the TePe Sigeman & Co elite tournament each day too if you like top level games.
