Pancakes or Waffles

Waffles duh.

Why waffles?
I like them.

Why not pancakes?
They are like the sweet-ish (sucr-âtre in French) version of Dosa. It’s so ugh. (Sorry for offending pancake-lovers if I did).

"sucr-âtre" ne veut absolument rien dire

Je sais. Le suffixe -âtre est un suffixe péjoratif. Y avait pas ce mot en anglais donc j’ai mis en français.

Oui mais il n'y a pas non plus ce mot en français tu aurais du donc le mettre dans une autre langue ou ce mot existe
De plus le suffixe "-âcre" n'est pas péjoratif dans tous les cas

ÂTRE pas âcre

When yer sittin' around a campfire, looking over every once in a while, lovingly, at yer four wheel drive truck ...

and one of the other cowpokes sez, "I could do with bit o' grub right about now. What we got, Cookie?"

At that point, ya want to pause, and maybe spit toward the fire, and then reply "whal, lemme see, Wyatt. There's some bacon in a cooler in the back o' my rig. And I can use that black iron skillet over there by the spaniel to fry it up, along with some ....

flapjacks."

You don't wanna say "We could, like, go to that nice little restaurant in town and inquire if perhaps they would serve some waffles. Especially with whipped cream and strawberries, you know? Who ELSE would fancy some waffles?"

No, that would sorta break the immersion. Why go to the trouble of pulling on yer boots if you're going to eat waffles?

Neither for me, thank you.

There is a frozen waffle brand that I like to heat in the oven, add butter and syrup.

The diner in the hood makes pancakes that are 1/2" thick; they cook throughout perfectly. (One thing that I do not like is a pancake that is a little doughy on the inside).

if you think about it waffles are just pancakes with indents in it so they are basically the same
